Only nine more days! Is that exciting or stressful to you? I'm beginning to be on the exciting side, even though there's lots still to be done. We have very few hard-and-fast plans between now and Christmas other than preparing for the big event itself, and I'm looking forward to this time of holiday celebration with my family.
Because the weather is supposed to be all over the place this week AND because we'll already be spending lots of time in the kitchen prepping meals and baking, here's our simple plan:
Breakfast:
- scrambled eggs, juice, bananas
-
- Cinnamon Almond Granola and fruit
Dinner:
- Taco soup with cheese and tortilla chips
- Spicy Sausage Pasta, green beans
- Pizza, carrot sticks, apples
- Parmesan Potato Veggie Soup
- Bean & Cheese Burritos, Spanish Rice, chips & Salsa
- Leftovers
- Lasagna, salad, breadsticks, cookies

This week we'll be baking Old-Fashioned Puffy Sugar Cookies, Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies (CCC), peanut butter blossoms, and something for our friends. Suggestions?? :-)
What are you cooking this week?

Yummy menu! Growing up cinnamon rolls was always our Christmas morning tradition. The taco soup and spicy sausage pasta sound fabulous as well! Love how you are making goodies for your friends! Good way to get the baking in and not have them around the house. :-) Love the ones you have listed and also like molasses cookies and caramel corn and toffee (or pretzel toffee even). I guess those last two aren't cookies though.
ReplyDeleteHave to admit my main feeling right now is hysteria. Being ill and feeling very unenergetic for the first week of December did me no favors. Ha! I am hoping to leave work an hour early tomorrow and power shop to get the rest of the gifts purchased. We've also just had a particularly unhelpful schedule this season in terms of having chunks of time open for us to accomplish things. I was able to pick up some extra work, and I'm grateful for the finances, but those hours are on Saturdays, so that does limit what else can happen on the weekends. But, it will all work out, it always does!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you've been sick! It seems as if everything happens during Advent to make life extra crazy. I hope that you're able to find some peace soon. :-)
