Having looked at my calendar, I'm considering this week to be the calm before the storm. We have a few fun things to do this week, school as usual (except today - taking the day off) and a few evening activities, but next week we'll be slammed, and that will continue - potentially through the new year.
So this week we're going to enjoy our slower pace. I'm going to try to schedule some extra fun activities with the kids, we're going all out for a few school projects, and I'm shooting for a family picnic next weekend when the projected temperature is to hit 69.
Here's the plan.
Breakfast:
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Baked Oatmeal - a new family favorite!
- scrambled eggs and toast
Dinner:
- Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken with French fries and carrot sticks
- Dinner at church
- Vegetable soup and Grandma's Biscuits
- Hamburgers on the grill, carrot sticks, baked beans, sliced pears
- Leftovers
We're going to bake some cookies for our church dinner, too - maybe fall cut-outs, painted and decorated? I'm also going to try to get some Chocolate Peanut Butter Granola Bars and some banana bars made and put into the freezer, too.
What are you cooking this week?
