My Memories: Review & a Giveaway

*** This giveaway is now closed.

I was recently contacted by My Memories Suite to review their software.  I'm not really a scrapbooker, but I love doing crafty things, so I was excited to try it out.

My Memories Suite is a complete scrapbooking studio for your computer.  The basic program comes with a variety of textures, papers, colors, embellishments, and mats for your photos and memories.

Using the software is easy.  First, you choose the size of your finished product, and then you begin with the background and work your way forward, from paper to buttons and bows.  The color choices are amazing, and I loved the many formats for pictures and text.  The fonts are fun, too - I love playing around with fonts!

I used this software to make a scrapbook page for my aunt's birthday party.  I'm not an artist or anything, but it sure was easier to put it together than it would've been by hand - and I didn't have to buy lots of different pieces, either.

The prints and embellishments included in the software are rather basic, but there are more available for download at the software's website, and they always have some available for free download.  When I began experimenting, calendar grids were available, so I made a basic calendar.  It would be fun to add photos to this!

I love all of the printables that people are making and framing.  I see lots of them on Pinterest, so I decided to try to make my own.  What do you think?

Party invitations would be another fun thing to make.  This one doesn't have too many embellishments, but I like simplicity - and by the time I made this one, I was familiar enough with the program that it took only a few minutes.  I think this would be a cute invitation to make and then order photo prints of it!

I found only one downfall to the program - while you can crop your photos, you can't crop any other part of your page.  I created a button for this blog but then found that I couldn't crop it out to separate it from the page, so if you want to do that, you'll have to export your project and crop it in another program.

All in all, I am very happy with this digital scrapbooking software, and I can't wait to see what other projects I can get into!

Now, for the good part:  Want to win your own copy?
